Introduction

Hello everyone! Welcome to our channel. After almost a year of living in our new home in Malaysia, we are finally doing a long-awaited room tour for you all. We've been extremely busy this past year, so this is a bit delayed. For those who have been following us, you know we've moved from a 4,800 - square - foot place with an amazing sea view to a 2,400 - square - foot house. But despite the smaller size, we're really happy here and things seem to be going great.

The Move and First Impressions

We downsized from a 4,800 - square - foot home to a 2,400 - square - foot one. It's a significant reduction in space, but we've found that this smaller size suits us just fine. In fact, since moving into this house, we feel that our lives have been getting better and more prosperous. Some might wonder if it's a matter of feng shui. A house with good feng shui is said to be beneficial for health and career.

The Entrance and Hallway

The Iron Gate

As we approach the house, you'll notice a large corridor. And there's an iron gate, which might seem a bit strange if you're used to Hong Kong. In Malaysia, it's common to have an iron gate at the entrance, especially at the玄关 (entrance hall) to protect your belongings. It can be left open for ventilation while still providing security.

The Entrance Hall

The entrance hall is quite spacious. Here, we have two baby strollers - one for Eden from when he was younger and a new one for Ellie that's still unopened. There's also a large shoe cabinet that can hold all our shoes. Surprisingly, Eden has the most shoes because his feet grow so fast.

The Front Door

The front door has an electronic lock that came with the rental. And we've decorated it with a red cloth and couplets, showing our traditional side.

The Living and Dining Areas

The Living Room

Once inside, you'll see the living room. It's combined with the dining room in a rectangular shape, which is said to be a good layout for wealth accumulation. The room is quite spacious. The previous owner had already installed some furniture, which we think fits well, although the frame for the TV limits its size.

We had to replace the original 55 - inch TV that Eden broke with a 65 - inch one. To prevent future accidents, we bought a special screen protector (Mon -贴) from Shopee. It's quite thick and claims to be unbreakable.

There's a corner where Eden's building blocks are placed, which is one of his play areas. I also plan to put his musical instruments like the ukulele and a small piano there. Eden seems to have some musical talent, and we've considered enrolling him in piano lessons, which are quite affordable here at 50 Malaysian Ringgit for 45 minutes, but he has to be 4 years old.

The New Sofa

We also replaced the original sofa because it wasn't cat - proof or waterproof. The new sofa is extremely comfortable. It's made up of four square pieces and can be adjusted according to our needs. The backrest can be moved to suit different sitting positions, whether it's for feeding the baby or just relaxing.

When my brother visited, he initially planned to stay at a seaside hotel but ended up coming back to sleep on the sofa because the hotel room was too hot and he felt uncomfortable. Later, he admitted that the hotel room might have had some strange occurrences.

The sofa is also great for family time. When we have dinner, Ellie can lie in a bag next to us and watch. It's made of a special fabric that's cat - proof, stain - resistant, and has a nice texture. We've tested its waterproof function when Ellie spilled something on it, and it could be easily wiped clean. If you're interested in this sofa, you can check out their Facebook and IG pages, and mention that you're our viewer to get an extra 5% discount.

The Dining Room

Next to the sofa is a large wooden dining table where we often invite friends over for meals and chats. Above the table is a beautiful crystal lamp that I really like. There's also a trampoline in the dining area, which is a great way for Eden to burn off energy. The mirror in the dining room makes the space feel even larger.

The Bar and Kitchen Island

We have a bar - style area on the kitchen island. Recently, many friends have come over and enjoyed sitting there to drink. Tommy, one of our viewers who has become a friend, brought us three types of cheese to try, and we found that a 10 - plus - Ringgit cheese was really delicious.

The Refrigerators and Memories

We have a double - door refrigerator, which is my first time using one. It's filled with photos of Ellie and Eden and some of Eden's handmade gifts for Mother's and Father's Day.

The Kitchen

The Dry Kitchen

The kitchen in Malaysia is divided into a dry kitchen and a wet kitchen. The dry kitchen has basic appliances like an oven and a microwave. The previous owner didn't prefer an open - flame stove, so there's an electric stove and range hood installed by the developer, but we rarely use it because the location isn't suitable for an open - flame. There's also a dishwasher, but since the maid came, she prefers to wash dishes by hand.

I bought a fully automatic coffee machine as a Father's Day gift for my husband last year. It can make espresso and cappuccino directly. We buy coffee beans in Malaysia, and they're not too expensive.

There's also a "BB Club" area filled with Ellie and Eden's things.

The Wet Kitchen

The wet kitchen is not small. We bought an open - flame stove ourselves because in Penang, if you want to cook with an open - flame, you need to use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The LPG here is very cheap, about 30 Malaysian Ringgit per tank, which can last for a month or two.

There's another refrigerator in the wet kitchen for storing extra food and the maid's items. There's also a water dispenser, a dryer, and a washing machine. We had the owner install window grilles for the safety of our children and cats.

The Maid's Room

Next to the wet kitchen is the maid's room, which we won't show you in detail. It has everything she needs, including a water dispenser, a refrigerator, a cooking area, and a toilet.

The Master Bedroom

The Layout and View

Our master bedroom is quite large. Besides the bed, we have a baby cot and a computer desk where I work. The view from the window is beautiful, with lots of green trees. The orientation is northeast, so the sun doesn't shine directly in.

The Entertainment Setup

Some viewers bought the same projector we used in the月子中心 (maternity center) video after seeing it. We also bought a 120 - inch floor - rising screen and a sound bar to enhance the viewing experience. The sound bar has a 5.1 - channel Dolby sound system, which makes it feel like you're in a movie theater. But we don't have much time to use it these days.

The Wardrobe and Dressing Area

One side of the room is my dressing area with a makeup table and a row of wardrobes that are all mine. Our cat likes to go into the wardrobe and mess up my clothes.

The Master Bathroom

The master bathroom has a bathtub, which is not very common in Malaysia. But as Hong Kong people, we prefer to have one. The size of the bathtub is just right, and we use it every day. The bathroom also has a dry - wet separation design and a double sink.

The Guest Areas

The Guest Room

On the other side of the living room, there are two rooms and a guest toilet. The first room was originally my husband's workspace but has now become a guest room. When friends or our parents come to visit, they can stay here. There are also some old computers and a bookshelf with our 100,000 - subscriber award.

The Guest Toilet

The guest toilet is a regular one, but in Malaysia, some guest toilets don't have a shower. This one has enough space for guests to use.

The Cat Toilet

Next to the guest toilet is the cat toilet.

Eden's Room

The Design and Safety Features

Eden has been sleeping in his own room since he was less than a year old. This room is designed with a low platform, which is safe for him to get in and out of bed by himself. We brought over the bed rail from our old house, which fits perfectly around the five - foot bed.

The room has some nice lighting features, including a night light and some glowing areas. There are also storage drawers and a small wardrobe for Eden.

The Shared Bathroom

Eden's room has a shared bathroom with the adjacent room. The design of the shared bathroom is a bit inconvenient as it might cause conflicts if both rooms need to use it at the same time. The bathroom has a window but no exhaust fan, which is a drawback. There's a small sink and toilet for Eden, but he prefers to use the regular toilets.

The Terrace

The Transformation

The terrace was completely transformed with furniture from Ruma. Before, it was empty and dirty with old, worn - out furniture left by the previous owner. Now, it has a barbecue grill and space for plants, and the view is amazing.

The View and Location

We used to think that a full - sea view was the best, but now we realize that a半山半海 (half - mountain, half - sea) view is even better. The mountain is green, and there's a clear view of the sea in the distance. The long日照时间 (sunshine hours) in Malaysia is one of the reasons we chose to live here. It gives us more time to work during the day.

Conclusion

So, that's our new home in Malaysia. We're very satisfied with it, even though it's half the size of our previous place. The 2,400 - square - foot area is just right for us. The house is well - decorated, which makes a big difference.

The only downside is that it's a bit偏僻 (remote). There aren't many supermarkets or restaurants nearby, but there is a food court downstairs with some Japanese and Chinese food.

The rent for this 2,400 - square - foot, fully - furnished and - decorated unit is now around 8,000 Malaysian Ringgit (about 14,000 - 15,000 Hong Kong dollars), which is quite expensive, but we think it's worth it for the quality of life. We have three parking spaces and two lockers included.

We hope you enjoyed this room tour. If you have any comments or suggestions on what we can add to our home, please leave a message below. And don't forget to like, subscribe, and turn on the notification bell for our future videos. See you in the next one!
