Introduction: The Evolution of AI Presentation Tools
The landscape of AI presentation tools has drastically changed, requiring an updated approach beyond basic Gamma tutorials. We're diving deep into the current capabilities, providing actionable strategies for different presentation scenarios.
Scenarios and Solutions
We address four common presentation creation scenarios:
- No Idea, No Content: Overcoming creative block with AI-powered brainstorming.
- Idea, No Content: Developing a complete presentation structure from initial thoughts.
- Content, No Presentation: Transforming existing reports and papers into engaging slides.
- Presentation, Needs Enhancement: Beautifying existing presentations with AI-driven design and interactive elements.

Practical AI Presentation Techniques
Here are 10 AI techniques to streamline your presentation creation process:
1. Felo Agent: AI-Powered Brainstorming and Content Generation
Felo's new "Agent" feature assists with brainstorming and content creation. By inputting a query, the AI performs a deep search and automatically generates presentation-ready content. For example, you can ask it to compare Northern and Southern Zongzi. The AI then creates slides with key points, ready for download as a PPT. Ensure you are logged in to Felo to access the Agent feature.
2. Canva's "Design For Me" Feature
Canva's AI capabilities allow for automatic presentation design based on a simple prompt. Switch Canva to the English (US) interface and use the "Design For Me" feature (currently unavailable in the Chinese version) with a prompt like "create a presentation on represent about a vibe coding 101 teaching slide". After the initial design, you can switch back to your preferred language using Canva's translation tool under "Magic Switch."
3. Claude for Rapid Presentation Outlines
Utilize Claude's preview feature to quickly generate presentation outlines. Input your ideas and request a high-level presentation structure, like a "online presentation website using Takahashi-style presentation method." This is useful for visualizing your thoughts in a simplified format. The advantage of Claude is that it offers more detailed designs than ChatGPT or Gemini for similar prompts.
4. ChatGPT for PPTX Generation
Use ChatGPT with the o3 model to create detailed presentations. For example, ask it to "create a 10-page presentation on the topic of AI in presentations, provide detailed content and a PPTX file for download." ChatGPT will generate the presentation and provide a downloadable PPTX file.
5. Gamma for Visual Enhancement
Import existing presentations into Gamma for visual upgrades using the "Visual Effects Import" feature. Gamma's free version typically limits slide creation to 7-10 pages, but this import function bypasses that limitation during our testing. You can upload your PPTX file and let Gamma automatically enhance the design with AI-driven suggestions. Use the AI Edit function to explore alternative layouts.
6. NotebookLM for Large Document Summarization
For presentations based on large documents, use NotebookLM (Google Gemini) to extract key points. Ask NotebookLM to "summarize the key points of the provided document into an 11-page presentation outline, including titles and content, using Markdown format." Then, copy the Markdown output and paste it into Gamma's "Paste Text" option to generate a visually appealing presentation.
7. Microsoft Copilot for Automated Presentation Creation
If you have access to Microsoft 365 Copilot, use it to create presentations from Word documents stored in OneDrive. Provide Copilot with a shared link to the Word file in the prompt, and it will automatically generate a presentation based on the document's content.
8. Claude for Custom Presentation Backgrounds
Use Claude as a "Prompt Engineer" to generate custom presentation backgrounds. Provide a reference image and ask Claude to create a similar-style 1920x1080 SVG image with a clear center and design elements in the corners. SVG format ensures scalability without loss of quality.
9. Claude for Data Visualization
Utilize Claude's ability to create SVG-based charts and diagrams. Input data and ask Claude to generate a specific chart type, such as a SWOT analysis of the latest iPad specifications. This allows you to incorporate visually appealing data representations into your presentations.
10. Napkin for Dynamic Presentation Elements
Napkin allows you to transform text into a series of visual elements. Its new PPT export feature allows those individual elements to be animated within PowerPoint. For example, you can convert the SWOT analysis results generated from Claude into a series of editable objects in PPT.
Copyright Considerations for AI-Generated Content
Understand the copyright implications of using AI-generated content:
-
Text: Text generated with AI interaction generally belongs to the user.
-
Images: Use AI tools with commercial usage rights, such as Napkin, Recraft, Canva, Midjourney, and Adobe Firefly.
-
ChatGPT Images: ChatGPT grants users rights to its generated content but advises users to ensure legality and avoid infringement. Prior to using the contents, you must make sure it does not violate laws and regulations.
