Celebrating 80,000 Subscribers and a Q&A Session

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our channel. Today, we're celebrating our 80,000 subscribers with another episode of You Ask Me Q&A. I'm truly grateful for all your support. When I started this channel, I never expected so many people would be interested. Last year at this time, we were in Shanghai celebrating 10,000 subscribers. Time really flies, and now we're at 80,000, which is beyond my imagination. I'm looking forward to getting the Silver Button from YouTube when we reach 100,000 subscribers. I'll proudly display it in my home.

The Game Room

Let me show you the game room first. It has a table football setup. I used to play this a lot at my company's tea room. The decoration here is beautiful, with a mirror design. My husband is watching a drama on my channel, reminiscing about his time in Taiwan. There's also a PS5, but my husband wants to buy a Wii or the Nintendo Switch 2. The night view from here is amazing.

How We Met

The first question is about how we met. We met very randomly. In 2011, I was about to go to work in the UK after graduating from college. I went to a fitness class in Shanghai and met Jessie, who was in her first year of college. I asked her to go for coffee the next day. We really just had coffee. I had just returned from studying in the US for my first summer vacation, and he had graduated from a UK university and was back in Shanghai. We met at a fitness class during the summer vacation. I only went to the class two or three times, and he only went once. After that, we were in a state of non-connection. In 2017, I went to Shenzhen to see a friend and met him again. He was working in Hong Kong at that time. We didn't even have WeChat when we first met. He found me through LinkedIn and added me on WeChat. I took the subway from Hong Kong to Shenzhen to meet him. We started dating, and for the first half year or so, we flew back and forth between the UK and Hong Kong. Then I moved to the UK for him.

Planning Our YouTube Life

The next question is about how we plan our YouTube life. We spend about 3 hours a day shooting YouTube videos. The rest of the time is divided into personal time, which is about 3 - 4 hours, and time to accompany our child. Our child is at an age where he needs a lot of attention. We either edit videos while he's at school or asleep. I'm a perfectionist and sometimes stay up late to finish editing videos. Compared to my previous job, my current life is much more relaxed. I don't have a boss forcing me to post videos every day.

Future Living Plans

The next question is about our future living plans. We plan to stay in Myanmar for at least 5 years. After that, it depends on various factors, such as our child's school. If our child goes back to the UK for elementary or middle school, we will definitely go back with him. We don't want him to go to a boarding school.

Retail Investment

The next question is about retail investment. For ordinary people, big ETFs are a good option. In our investment portfolio, about 70% are ETFs, 20% are self-selected stocks, and 10% is cash. We invest in stocks that we are optimistic about, such as Google, TSMC, and Nvidia. We also keep some cash in case of a market rebound.

Buying a Landed House

The next question is about buying a landed house. We've seen some landed houses before, but we don't plan to buy one at the moment. We prefer to live in a condo because it's more convenient and has better security. We also don't like the layout of landed houses. However, we will visit a landed house in a while and share the video with you.

Favorite Local Food

The next question is about our favorite local food. I don't really like nasi lemak, but my husband thinks it's okay. My favorite local food is stir-fried fritters and laksa. I also like Banquo's Cua Cua.

Favorite Countries

The next question is about our favorite countries. I've lived in Shanghai, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and now Kuala Lumpur. Each place has its own charm. Shanghai is my hometown, and I have a special feeling for it. New York is exciting and suitable for young people, but it also has its problems. Singapore is a neat and well-governed city. Hong Kong has a fast-paced lifestyle and a lot of pressure. London has a rich historical and cultural background. I also like Tenerife, Monaco, and Taiwan.

Cost of Living in Kuala Lumpur

The next question is about the cost of living in Kuala Lumpur. In Kuala Lumpur, if you want to live a basic life, a family of four can get by on 7,000 - 8,000 yuan per month. If you want to live a more comfortable life, you can spend over 10,000 yuan per month. There are many affordable dining options and free leisure activities in Kuala Lumpur.

British Real Estate

The next question is about British real estate. British real estate can be a stable investment. Some popular rental areas in the UK include Manchester, Bristol, Oxford, and Cambridge. The rent in these areas is relatively high. I plan to make a special video about remodeling real estate in the UK in the future.

Decoration Experience

The next question is about our decoration experience. We've had a lot of experience and made some mistakes during the decoration process. We've also done a lot of DIY projects. I will share our decoration experience and some useful tips in a future video.

Sense of Belonging

The next question is about our sense of belonging. We don't think that staying in a place for a long time necessarily means having a sense of belonging. Our child was born in the UK, but we don't think he will have a problem adapting to life in the UK in the future. We want him to be a world citizen and have the freedom to choose the place he likes.

Future Travel Plans

The next question is about our future travel plans. We really want to go to Okinawa, but it's quite far from Malaysia. We also want to go to Chongqing and Chengdu. I've been to Chengdu many times and like the food there, but my husband has a sensitive stomach and can't handle spicy food.

Conclusion

That's it for today's video. Thank you for watching. If you have any questions that we didn't answer today, you can leave them in the comments section. We'll try to answer them in the next Q&A session. Goodbye!
