Screen Fit is an online vision training program designed to alleviate the negative effects of prolonged screen use. It aims to improve visual skills, establish healthy habits, and combat the detrimental effects of our screen-dominated lifestyles.
What is Screen Fit?
According to its creator, Dr. Bryce Applebaum, Screen Fit is more than just a program. It's a structured approach to developing better vision habits. It aims to reduce the symptoms associated with screen usage, improve visual abilities to handle prolonged screen time, and instill conscious habits to prevent the development of bad habits.
Screen Fit Offerings
Currently, Screen Fit offers two programs:
-
Vision Foundations: This program is the focus of the current overview.
-
Vision Stamina: This will be covered in a subsequent video.
Upon logging in, the dashboard is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. A completion bar at the top visually tracks your progress and provides a sense of accountability. The program is organized into weekly modules, and following the prescribed schedule is recommended for optimal results. However, the flexibility to progress at your own pace is also accommodated. The daily videos range from 1 to 4 minutes in length, followed by approximately 10 to 15 minutes of vision exercises.
Who is Screen Fit For?
Screen Fit is designed for virtually anyone who uses screens. Given our tech-saturated environment, this encompasses a large portion of the population. The program serves as a preventative measure to protect and enhance vision in the digital age.
Is Screen Fit Worth It?
For many, the answer is a definitive yes. Before using Screen Fit, the reviewer experienced headaches and significant eye strain at the end of each workday, likely due to excessive screen time. After completing the 30-day program, these issues were resolved. Screen Fit offers lifetime access, allowing users to revisit the course periodically (e.g., every six months or annually) to maintain optimal vision.
It's important to remember that the effectiveness of any online course or program depends on consistent engagement. The program is only effective if the user commits to following it; otherwise, it's a wasted investment.
